Birth education that works

Active Birth teaching is wonderfully rewarding work that impacts profoundly on peoples' lives and can make all the difference to the way they give birth and begin parenting.
 
Janet Balaskas and her colleagues have been training Active Birth teachers for more than 25 years. This has been responsible for the spread of inspirational Active Birth classes in many places throughout the world and radical change in maternity services.

Our aim is to help pregnant women to discover in action, how wonderfully their bodies are designed for giving birth. We have developed and pioneered highly skillful and effective means for doing this, which we pass on to others through this training.

This is birth education that is learnt primarily through the body. We enable the pregnant woman to connect with the elemental forces of nature and the instinctual 'know how' that is inside her. This gives her the strength, knowledge and confidence to trust her body and her power through the journey of birth
