More about Training and Costs

How much does Active Birth Teacher Training cost?

This is a very comprehensive training with a highly experienced team of teachers. We have kept the cost as low as possible and made it as easy as possible for you to pay the training fees. For this reason we are not able to offer discounts or concessionary places. Many applicants have been successful in obtaining funding for this highly regarded course.

We have also calculated carefully that you should be able to recoup your investment after you get going. You will then have a long term reliable income, doing rewarding work you are passionate about, which changes the world for the better and is profoundly meaningful in the lives of your clients.

Essential teaching aids you will need on the course

You must have with you a full-size model of a female pelvis and a fetal doll with a detachable umbilical cord and placenta during this training. These will be the teaching aids you will be using all the time in your own classes or workshops in future, and you will be learning to use them during the course. This is an essential  investment in your teaching career, so we urge you once your application has been accepted, to purchase these items as soon as you can.

These are the ones we strongly recommend :
Articulated Female Pelvis (Ref ZJY-590-G) from Educational & Scientific Products:
Newborn size doll from HealthEdco :
Detachable umbilical cord and placenta from Birth International :

There are 2 ways you can acquire these items

  1. Ordering them yourself

You can find the details and prices on the above websites and order direct from each of the suppliers in advance of the course. You can have them delivered to the Active Birth Centre c/o The Manager of Bickerton House see ‘About’

2. Pre-order through us

If you do this, you will benefit from a bulk order discount. The 2017 cost for ordering all three items combined (Pelvis, Doll and Placenta) through us was £270 including P&P. However costs are likely to increase in 2018. As we would like you to use the models we recommend as best and some of these items come from abroad, we must have received all pre – orders by the end of January 2018. You will find them waiting for you when you arrive for the course. If you would like to take advantage of this please contact for more details.
