Deciding which pool is right for you:
The woman in this image is 5’9” (175 cm)

The differences between the Eco Mini and the Eco Regular:

The Regular Eco pools have an internal seat and top handles as standard. An internal seat is great to sit on after birth while you bond with your newborn. Use the top handles for stability while floating face-up in the water and as a leverage point to give you control when you want to change position.

The Mini Eco pools also have top handles as standard, with the same benefits as above but do not have an internal seat.

How do I choose between the two Pool sizes?

Both pools are the same depth, so the choice comes down to length/width. For women over 5'6" the Mini pool is likely to be too small to comfortably assume positions conducive to labour and birth, such as leaning on the sides facing out with legs extended out behind. If your partner wants to join you in the pool, then whatever your height, the Regular pool is more likely to enable that comfortably. On the other hand, if you have limited space in the room you plan to use, you may be better off with the Mini pool even if you are over 5'6".

The main features of the Eco Birth Pool-in-a-Box:

Designed with purpose
Birth Pool in a Box is designed with safety, practicality, comfort and resilience in mind.

New eco-friendly material
The new material in the Eco pool does not have additives that have been linked to harm in animals and people.

Includes disposable liner for enhanced safety
Midwives advised that a new liner for the birth is a necessity from a hygiene perspective, while mothers wanted to be able to relax in late pregnancy or do trial-runs before the real thing. One disposable liner is included and additional liners are available for just £20.00. Using a liner also means two "containers" for the water, giving added protection against water leaks.

Deep enough to give buouyancy without compromising midwife support
The minimum recommended depth of water to provide bouyancy for a mother in labour is 18" (45cm) (Source: The Waterbirth Book by Janet Balaskas). New Birth-Pool-in-a-Box has an internal depth of 26" (66cm) and since the sides are stiff when inflated, you can fill water to a depth of 22".

Adjustable Height
Midwives said that mothers with shorter legs may have difficulty getting in and out of a pool. When a woman wants to exit the pool, simply open the top fast-deflate valve for a few seconds to reduce the height and width of the top chamber of the pool.

New top handles added for control
Mothers asked for a means to control their movements while floating and some wanted additional gripping points.

Three independent chambers for improved safety
The sides of Birth-Pool-in-a-Box are made of 3 independent tubular chambers stacked on top of each other. If one of them should puncture by accident, only 1/3 of the wall height will be lost.

Comfortable and welcoming
This doesn't look like a medical device! It is welcoming and the inflated sides are comfortable to rest on. This is conducive to your relaxation, which will enhance the production of the hormone oxytocin, thereby speeding up your labour.

Double-reinforced handles
Mothers requested strong handles on the outside of the pool for use when leaning on the side facing out. They are angled at 30 degrees for comfort and secure the disposable liner in place.

Sturdy enough for birth partner and midwives to support from any position
Once the pool is filled, the sides are sturdy enough for a 15 stone (95.5kg) person to sit on the side without collapsing it. If your partner plans to join you in the pool, we recommend the Regular size.

Every one factory-tested
Every single pool is inflated and left for 8 hours before testing and packing. Then 10% are randomly tested by independent inspectors. That means structural integrity you can depend on.

Fast to inflate and fill
With the fast handpump provided free with the pool, it takes only 10 minutes to inflate the pool. Your mattress foot-pump or electric-pump may not be powerful enough to inflate the pool to full pressure. Water filling time depends on your hot-water system. The Regular pool holds the equivalent of approximately 4 bathtubs of water.

Proven in the field
Birth-Pool-in-a-Box has been used successfully for labour and birth by thousands of women in Britain and Europe.
