This workshop is a must for every mother and father-to-be. It will help you to have a more conscious pregnancy and to be better prepared for what life will be like with your new baby.

Early parenting is peaceful, fulfilling and ecstatic at times and is also much more challenging than you may anticipate. Exploring the continuum of your baby's experience in the womb, during birth and as a newborn will give you a unique perspective and better understanding of  your baby's primal needs.

You will find out about the incredible facts about what your baby knows and experiences in the womb, what he or she is aware of and how your baby develops. This will help you to become more sensitive and connected to the presence of your child during pregnancy. 

We will then explore your baby's birth process and the part that your baby plays in the initiation and progress of labour and what the journey of birth is like from the baby's perspective. This will help you to be more aware of how you can help your baby with intuition, choices, movement, positions and a positive mental attitude.   

We will view the first hours, days and early weeks as a continuum of pregnancy and birth and explore how you and your baby can make an easier transition to life after birth. This will help you to respond to your newborn baby's signals and to communicate well with your baby. We will also look at the essentials of practical baby care, sleeping, carrying, swaddling, winding etc.

If you wish, there will be an opportunity to discuss your feelings (both positive and negative) about becoming a parent - the hopes, fears, ambivalence, excitement and joy that all new parents experience.  The workshop ends with a brief look at the different approaches to parenting your baby to help you to find your own way and deal with the conflicting advice you are likely to be given.
