Does it matter how babies are born?
This talk will get you and your partner thinking about how you would like to approach the birth of your baby, and the first hours that follow.
It is an opportunity to explore how the way babies are born can shape the relationship between mother and baby and potentially enhance the emotional well being of both.
You will learn about the natural hormones which mothers and babies share during a physiological birth, and how these promote the deep loving attachment new mothers feel towards their newborns, and is the beginning of the life long bond between them.
Dr Michel Odent is world renowned as the author of many books and for his pioneering work in active birth and water birth in the 1980's. He has been alerting doctors, midwives and parents everywhere to the many benefits of a low-tech, non interventionist approach to birth ever since. For the past 20 years he has been running unique research project - The Primal Health Research Centre - which looks into the implications for the baby's long term health of its experiences in utero, during birth and in the first years of life.
This is an unmissable chance to hear one of the world's leading childbirth pioneers and most inspiring speakers.
