A complete birth preparation course which will give you give you a thorough understanding of what may happen during your labour and birth and all the practical guidance you need. Janet is a birth educator with 25 years of experience. Her training as an NCT teacher is combined with her unique expertise in active and water birth to bring you one of the best courses you will find. This will include active labour and birth positions, breathing, massage, using a birth ball or a birthing pool as well as guidance about all the medical back up.
Janet will explain how the principles and benefits of an active birth can be combined, if and when necessary, with the use of complementary therapies and/or medical interventions or pain relief options such as an epidural. Topics such as induction and assisted birth will be discussed.
The primary aim of this course is to enable you to understand how birth physiology works, so that you approach your birth with confidence, trust in your body and a positive attitude. You will also be well informed about all your options and encouraged to keep an open mind, ready to make empowered decisions and choices that are best for your baby.
The partner's role is a constant theme and an excellent and detailed course handbook is provided on booking.
This course is arranged as a 2 day weekend and is held at the Active Birth Centre in North London. Couples or singles are welcome..
