| Disana Swaddling Blankets.
(Chosen by The Independent newspaper for their 50 Best Eco Baby Buys, August 2005, and recommended by Janet Balaskas)
Janet says in her book 'Natural Baby': Newborns often feel more secure when swaddled in a shawl, light blanket or flannel sheet in the early weeks. Fold this into a triangle first. Then, when your baby is dressed, place her in the centre, shoulders level with the folded edge. Fold up the bottom first and then cross over the sides one at a time and tuck in. It can help a baby who is having trouble with positioning and latching onto the breast, to be securely swaddled in this way before feeding." Blankets are made from 100% soft brushed cotton which allows your baby's skin to breathe. Untreated organic fibres are often best for babies who have especially sensitive skin or suffer from allergies. Price: £10.99 for pack of two. order |
