Pregnancy Yoga classes with Lynn Murphy offer you a space to relax and release tension, develop body awareness, work with the changes of pregnancy, and prepare for labour. The practice of yoga at this time will help to prevent or relieve minor discomforts, while also helping you feel more confident as you link Yoga postures and breathing to the way your body naturally wants to move in pregnancy and labour. With repeated practice your body will insitncitvely know what to do when you are giving birth or going with the flow of your labour sensations.
Lynn attended Janet’s classes when she was pregnant with her own children over 20 years ago, and has been teaching Yoga and Active Birth and advancing her own training ever since.
Classes include half an hour of tea and discussion, a time to share with other women many of the issues surrounding pregnancy, birth and life with a new baby. You can come along at any time after the 14th week of pregnancy.
Our beautiful little girl finally arrived,12 days late, yesterday. Waters broke on Wednesday morning, and contractions started around 7.30pm. By 9.45pm we were at the birth center, I was in the pool and using gas and air at 11.00, pushing by 12, it was a really positive, empowering experience, helped hugely by all the yoga practice, thanks Lynn. She is 8lbs 4oz of calm, contented delight. Now looking forward to baby massage!
The best thing of all was all the months of preparation I’d had from your yoga classes! The breathing, leaning against the wall and & all fours all came really instinctively during birth & totally helped me to go with the contractions.
